Comics and Zines
I started drawing because I wanted to tell my own stories; as I’ve grown and learned, those doodles have turned into full-fledged comics and zines. The stories I tell pull from themes of family, food, nature, and connections.

Sill Mossen is a stand alone comic page with my characters Lou (long hair) and Carrough (braided hair). I used a dip pen, brush, and india ink to illustrate it.

This Actually is my First Rodeo is a 20 page riso-printed comic following Maura as she learns to ride a giant bullfrog for the first time for the upcoming rodeo.
The story begins with Maura gaining the courage to hop on Berry the bullfrog for the first time and the introduction of Astrid. Things quickly take a wild leap when Berry takes Maura on a wild ride through the strawberry bogs.

Kärret (Bog) This victorian paper valentine follows the story of Nils and Cara as they row home after a house party. Cara is worried about paddling home in the dark, but Nils assures her the stories of a mysterious bog monster are just tales to keep drunk teenagers out of the woods late at night.
As they paddle deeper into the bog Cara keeps hearing strange sounds coming from deeper in the reeds around them. The story culminates when the reader opens the last part of the valentine to a full page spread of Nils being dragged into the water by the mysterious creature.

Längtar (Longing) was the first multiple page comic I tried to make! Längtar is about my experiences learning Swedish to better connect with my family and family history. I used a magic book format.
Swedish is not spoken actively in my family anymore, though my Abba and cousins can understand it a little. I started learning Swedish to translate some of the old family cookbooks we have, and to feel closer to family that’s passed on.
The Swedish is a little (smål) rough because I had only been studying it for ~2.5 months when I wrote it in late 2022, but I think this adds to the comic as a whole, as it is about learning and connections.
