Jellyfish
Jellyfish was made using India inks, paint markers, oil pastels, and colored pencils on a 48”x34” piece of mixed media paper. It is about having so many ideas that it can feel overwhelming, but instead of letting them drown letting them uplift you instead. I made this in the Spring of 2021.
Quiet Epidemic
Quiet Epidemic was made using oil pastels, india inks, paint pens, and alcohol markers on a 48”x35” piece of mixed media paper. I made this during Quarantine in the Spring of 2021; while we were living through a Global Pandemic, reporting on the Opioid Epidemic fell to the wayside.
Metanoia
Metanoia translates to mean “an otherworldly change of perspective”. In the Spring of 2021 we had been in Quarantine for a year, and many life changes came with that. There were feelings of being pulled in too many directions at once, all while my feet were firmly rooted where I was. Being constantly observed on camera in Zoom classes was a major leap from sitting in a classroom. That Spring was pivotal for me as an artist learning how to pull myself up and keep creating.
Metanoia is made of india inks, oil pastel, colored pencil, metallic ink, and paint pen on 43”x36” sheet of mixed media paper.
